Read “released” narrowly. It means the reporting source sent that custody event. Ask whether it was release to the community, discharge, parole, bond, or a transfer to another authority. “Transferred” also requires the receiving agency’s locator. Neither status states the final court disposition.
Note: A VINE notification timestamp may be later than the facility’s official movement time, so retain and label both sources.

Why Winston County VINE Matters
VINE has unusual local value. The official Winston County Sheriff page and WCCRCF page publish contacts but no current inmate roster, recent-release feed, or archive window. There is no official local web baseline from which a person can simply disappear.
